In the POWERPOOR project various municipalities across Europe participate. The municipalities engaged through POWERPOOR are the pioneers incorporating the POWERPOOR approach within their main activities as a way of mitigating energy poverty. They are part of the POWERPOOR network and from their experiences, lessons learnt and best practices will be drawn and shared across Europe. More than 52 municipalities are engaged 17 of which have also established a local energy poverty alleviaiton office
Local Energy Poverty Alleviation offices
The local energy poverty alleviation offices are a one-stop-shop of information on how to mitigate energy poverty using the POWERPOOR approach. They are open for anyone who is interested in mitigating energy poverty, Individuals can see if they are affected by the phenomenon, find an Energy Supporter or Mentor to advise them on taking low-cost energy efficiency measures and/or implenet behavioural changes that can boost their energy efficiency or lower their energy bills. There they can also find out information on how to be part of joint energy initiatives such as energy cooperatives or communities and how to leverage innovative financing schemes.
